Experienced Paediatric Physiotherapists
Occupational therapy treatment focuses on helping people achieve independence in all areas of their lives. Occupational therapists see children experiencing difficulty with everyday tasks due to physical and developmental difficulties, delays and disabilities. Their treatment can help children improve their cognitive, physical, and motor skills and enhance their self-esteem and sense of accomplishment.
Some people may think that occupational therapy is only for adults; children after all do not have occupations, as a child's main job is playing and learning. Occupational therapists can evaluate children's skills for playing, school performance and daily activities and compare them with what is developmentally appropriate for that age group.
Occupational therapists aim to maximise children's development opportunities to support independence in everyday tasks, learning, play and to access the national curriculum. They also help to maximise independence, access and safety at home.
